The “Quintet M” consists of five young Hungarian musicians: Blanka Mester –soprano, Katalin Kovács – mezzo-soprano, Gábor Bálint – tenor, Marcell Kovács – bass and Máté Lachegyi - pianist. All the members of the group have musical backgrounds, expanding over a range of professions: classical singer, choir conductor, violin player, pianist or music teacher.

The “Quintet M” works as a project ensemble. Their first concert was in 2017 at the Kodály Festival organised by The Hague Hungarian Embassy. Since then the quintet has performed several times at Hungarian and international events - such as Embassy Festivals, Huygens Festivals - all throughout The Netherlands. They regularly participate in concerts of the Amsterdam and The Hague Hungarian Choir as soloists.

In the repertoire of the “Quintet M”, the madrigals and motets of early music can be found as well as contemporary chamber pieces. The ensemble sings mostly acapella but frequently with piano or organ accompaniment.

Their concerts often include works of Hungarian composers, such as Zoltán Kodály, Béla Bartók, Ferenc Farkas and Lajos Bárdos.

„Music is such an universal binder that through its magic is capable to unite people of different ages, nationalities and backgrounds. It was music itself that made us friends and banded us creating lifelong lasting connections”
